Our Mission
Our mission is to become the definitive service
standard in the health insurance industry. We will deliver extraordinary
value to our members by providing highly innovative and beneficial
insurance products, delivering exceptional customer service, and distributing
Association profits back to our members. Though the combined
leveraging of advanced technology, superior product and system design, and
the principled application of enlightened capitalism, the Reciprocal
aspires to reform the health insurance delivery system for the mutual
benefit of all parties.
We Believe:
- That
health insurance company profits should be viewed as surplus, and
should therefore be distributed to the persons most closely associated
with the organization with which they share the risk (our plan
members).
- That
all persons deserver the right to choose and maintain relationships
with the medical caregivers of their determination, and that
clinicians should be reimbursed fairly and promptly for necessary
services.
- That
all persons should have the right to own and maintain private health
insurance coverage, regardless of their employment status, and that
their insurance coverage should be fully portable and based on their
particular needs and personal preferences.
- That
all persons should be empowered to take charge of their health through
appropriate healthplan design incentives, and should be provided easy
access to useful information and decision tools.
- That
the current healthcare system invokes over-consumption of healthcare
services and the delivery of defensive medial practices, which has
resulted in unsustainable medical inflation.
- That
many of our country’s healthcare problems can be resolved through
individual (private) insurance ownership.
